Backcountry skiing

There are many ways that people ski. One of the most dangerous, action-packed, and fun ways to ski is back country skiing. Back country skiing is all about skiing off the beaten path and skiing different types of terrain. People hike, skin, and take helicopters to try and reach some of this new terrain. The western part of the United States has many areas of back country skiing.

 

Alaska is very popular for its back country skiing. Helicopter ski trips are very popular and take people way out into unexplored Alaskan mountains.
